Probably a coil breaking down, but might be spark plug wires.
I would start by replacing the spark plugs and plug wires. If that does not fix the problem seek professional help.
Could be because your engine if missfiring do to faulty spark plugs or the fuel injectors are dirty.Thats only a few things that might be wrong!
It's possible your having a misfire from a loose plug wire, a missfiring fuel injector, etc. I would take it to your mechanic to be scanned. 00gtp
That code means; Engine missfire detected.First check the plug wires and the spark plugs. That would be the most common problem. You may also have a bad coil on that cylinder. If you get the engine scanned it will tell you what cylinder is missfiring.
check the timing it could possibly be off a little bit and that's what throwing it off.
There is a good chance that the new belt has been fitted 'one tooth out'. The car will start up and run, but will misfire and will not accelerate very well. The garage who fitted the belt should rectify it free of charge. (should not cause any valve damage)
I would suspect the plug wires have been installed incorrectly. I will list a link. Go there and check to see if you have the plug wires correctly installed according to the firing order.
have you had a tune up latley, if not then it could be your distributer cap, roter, spark plugs, or plug wires. If you have had a tune up lately check that your plug wires are in the correct firing order. If that dont stop it then it could be your oxygen sensor, your mapp sensor or your maf sensor, there is also a chance you have a dead cylinder. hope this is helpful. p.s. if its not a tune up issue you should have it hooked up to a computer to diagnose the problem, guessing with sensor problems can get expensive very quikly
This happened in my MK5 fiesta they are renown for electrical problems in this way in mine the engine was missfiring (later found out it was on 2 pistons). once i had found out that it was not the spark plugs or the spark plug leads ( switch the sparks plugs around into different pistons and buying a new set of leads) the only other case was the coil pack which sends the electricity to the plugs. this can be brought for around £60 it is easy to istall just un screw the old one and unplug it fron the spark leads and the engine and put in the new one it takes no more than 2 minutes.
Your car is getting too much fuel into the engine. There are several things that will cause this, It would help to know if the check engine light is on? I answered this question earlier but someone removed my answer, I was hoping to help with followup questions. is the check engine on ? ----------------------------------------------------------------- the check engine light is not on but when i scaned with OBD2 it shows this codes p0171 systemtoo lean (bank1) p0302 cylinder 2 misfire p0303 gylinder 3 misfire p0300 rondom/multie cylinder misfire
Drive or go to a place that is PITCH dark. open the hood and start the truck. check the spark plug wires and around the spark plugs. If you see ANY lights, sparks or glow from any of the wires, then you need to change the spark plug WIRES and maybe the spark plugs. If you have a real bad leak of current from one wire to the other one, then your truck is going to be misfiring occasionally, depending on the road and speed. If you don't see any of the above, then also change your coil, It might be defective. if it is the coil it will get progressively bad or quit altogether.
