On the vast majority of modern cars today it is impossible to actually shift to reverse while driving at high speed. Modern transmissions have an override safety device that prevents the transmission from going into reverse at any speed forward that would harm the transmission. You could put the selector in reverse, but the transmission would not shift to reverse. On older transmissions without this feature, you would probably destroy the transmission and possible have an accident.
It is possible it is one of the speed sensors.
On the open road or freeway with mild inclines.
This depends on what you mean by "goes out". If the clutch doesn't grab anymore you will cost to a stop. If the clutch will not release, you will have a hard time stopping.
Possibly, you have a broken timing belt.
Shift to reverse
It goes into reverse gear, nothing else.
well my car today stopped running while driving the freeway .i took it to the mechanic and said i didnt have any oilnow i need a new engine :(the engine will seize up pdq
Falling asleep or losing concentration due to boredom. Take frequent breaks on long jouneys.
If you are ill and taking cough medicine while driving what happens
Your transmission seems to be slipping, serious problem!!! See mechanic ASAP, you don't want to get stuck on the freeway & can't move, not a good situation!
replace the cam position sensor.also if this happens agin, while driving, put vehicle into neutral and start engine while coasting.by the time you have restarted engine, you will usually have slowed down enough to reengage transmission with out stopping
Serious crashes.
