PO171 = system adaptive fuel too lean (bank 1) PO174 = system adaptive fuel too lean (bank 2)
1199 jag xj8 mas airflow sensor
2000 ford lightning. P1540,po171.po174
Trouble code P0174 means:System too lean (bank 2)
leaking intake gaskets...
depending on what engine maker it is , likely an intake manifold or vacuum leak, ck that first
P0174 indicates a lean condition see the provided link for possible causes and solutions
P0174 - system to lean, bank 2. You may simply have a vacuum leak affecting bank 2. Check under the hood for disconnected vacuum line(s) on engine.
P0171, system too lean (bank 1). P0174, system too lean (bank 2). Start with checking for a vacuum leak.
Po174 trim lean means that the oxygen sensors have "picked" up a lean condition The engine is not running as efficiemtly as it should. The cause for this can be lots of things... bad o2 sensor, vacuum leak, low fuel pressure The list goes on. The good news is the most likely cause on your car is a bad Mass Air Flow sensor as lots of these cars have that condition and there is a service bulletin for that code and that problem
If your code is PO171 or PO174 then there is a fuel delivery issue, If your fuel filter hasn't been replaced yet then do that first before replacing the fuel pump[The volume of sending fuel is insufficient]
This is "Fuel/Air Mixture too lean on bank 2".Possible Causes:Intake air leaksFaulty front heated O2 SensorIgnition MisfireFaulty Fuel InjectorsExhaust gas leakIncorrect Fuel PressureLack of fuelFaulty (MAF) sensorPCV hose connected incorrectly
