Could be,A fouled/worn spark plug(s),
A faulty spark plug wire(s),
A bad distributor cap and rotor,
Incorrect firing order,
Moisture inside distributor cap,
A bad fuel injector(s) if applicable,
A burned valve(s),
Contaminated fuel (water in gas),
Incorrect fuel pressure,
Dirty/plugged fuel filter,
A failing fuel pump,
A vacuum leak,
The year, make and engine info would help for more possibilities.
((Missfiring)) it's when a piston in the engine. Doesn't get a spark from the sparkplug to ignite the fuel in the cumbustion chamber.
That code means; Engine missfire detected.First check the plug wires and the spark plugs. That would be the most common problem. You may also have a bad coil on that cylinder. If you get the engine scanned it will tell you what cylinder is missfiring.
Could be because your engine if missfiring do to faulty spark plugs or the fuel injectors are dirty.Thats only a few things that might be wrong!
Sparkplugs... Give it a tune up.
What causes a misfire can be a number of things. But from what you are telling me, you may have water in your oil and maybe some bad gas inside your engine. If you have pumped in some bad gas, you may have a filed out the sparkplug at that #8 cylinder.
Cylinder #8 is the rearmost cylinder on the engine block. Face the engine, and #8 will be closest to the firewall.
cylinder stop drag
A normal combustion engine has one piston per cylinder. So a 4 cylinder has 4 pistons, a 8 cylinder has 8 pistons, etc.
bad coil on cylinder number 8. local parts store should have one for ABOUT $50
No spark.
