The climb increases the strain through the gravitational pull backwards - strain requires more energy - energy means more RPM (revs per minute) which means the engine works harder. Water and Air act as the coolants to compensate for the increased work so: Check Water Levels, Oil Levels and ensure that the Radiator Cooling Fan works.... You may also need to drop-down / shift to a lower gear.
