Gasoline is relatively cheap compared to other types of fuel, such as hydrogen fuel cells. Gasoline is convenient if one is intending to travel a great distance, as other fuel sources do not have as great a density as gasoline does. Also, gasoline stations are everywhere, so it's not difficult to find a place to refuel.

However, gasoline creates pollution. There is also not much gasoline left on this planet, as it is a fossil fuel and therefore there is a limited supply--and gasoline is non-renewable. In addition, gas prices are going up, so it will probably not remain cheap for too much longer.
