If you hear the engine "rev up" loudly, followed by slow acceleration, then your transmission is probably on the way out. If it's just a matter of poor acceleration, then the problem could lie with the fuel system. This could be complicated due the number of components that could be At Fault. It could be the fuel injectors, the fuel filter, sensors, just to name a few. The other (but less likely) would be a clogged air filter.
