I was in an accident that was not my fault. My car was in the shop for three month for repairs, only to find out today that the insurance wants to TOTAL the car. Which is okay with me, but they are saying that the car is worth $12,000 and that the repairs were $8000, and that they are only going to give me $4000. HOW is this possible, I did not make that decision for the car to be rapaired then to be claimed TOTAL loss.
What should I do? Please help me.
get a good job............you will (assuming you are at fault for this loss) be require to pay for the totaled vehicle.........
That depends on what the car is and how much the insurance values it at.
You could to see if they know anything.
If you were insured at the time of the accident, your insurance should pay up to the amount stated on your policy. It does not matter if you still have the insurance now. It is important that you had it on the daye of the accident.
Nothing. Your insurance company is the agency which would deal with that.
The amount of the repair bill. You might also get a rental car if you have that coverage on your own insurance.
Nothing for the car. Insurance companies pay out the total amount on the first wreck and expect the car to be in the scrap yard, if it is not, it is still worth nothing to them.
The other parties liability should if it was their fault. Your liability should cover the vehicle you damaged.
if there is insurance it should pay for the loss
Sue him.A bit more:If the person who hit you doesn't have enough insurance to cover the damages to your vehicle, then your insurance should cover the balance of the costs if you have full coverage and not just liability insurance.
This can be a complicated issue. You should speak with an attorney in your area. If the vehicle was completely paid off by the insurance, then you may still owe fees to the Trustee or previous attorney. The dollar amount you pay for the loan and the dollar amount you pay to complete a chapter 13 are not the same.
This depends on what the settlement covers I have required the insurance company to allow me to retain ownership, this reduces the settlement. Or the if you do not specify that this is what you want the insurance company gets the car.
