To install the distributor on a 1999 GMC Savana, first disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts. Remove the old distributor by unbolting it and carefully lifting it out, noting its orientation for proper alignment. Position the new distributor in place, ensuring the rotor aligns with the correct cylinder, and secure it with bolts. Finally, reconnect any wiring and the battery, and check for proper ignition timing before starting the engine.
