put the gear into neutral. It will take you immediately out of your skid. It kept me from hitting a vehicle on ice.
Take your foot off the gas, brake gently, steer into the skid.
Do not put your foot on the breaks. Take your foot off the accelerator and steer into the skid.

Take your foot off the accelerator and steer in the direction of the skid
Take your foot off of the accelerator but do NOT touch the brake. Steer INTO the direction of the skid. If your rear end is breaking right, steer right. The idea here is to keep the front ahead of the rear. As the vehicle slows you will feel the tires begin to grip the road. When this happens gently apply pressure to the brakes to slow or stop the car. Be very careful not to apply enough pressure lock the brakes. This could put you right back into the skid. Also, when steering into the skid, do so gently. Many people have actually recovered from a skid only to be thrown into a skid in the opposite direction due to overcompensation.
A Ford transit light can have different meanings. If this light appears you should take the vehicle to a mechanic as soon as possible to find out the issue.
Yes... a vehicle with abs brakes will leave skid marks. Unfortunately they are not what you are used to seeing. They will appear faint and gaped (like a stone skipping across the water), the best way to view them are from a distance and close to the ground. Another way is to use polarized lens on a camera to take pictures. Abs skid marks will only last a day or tow on a lightly travelled road. Hope this answers your question. Take you foot off the brakes. This may restore some traction so you can steer or apply the brakes more gently.
Most definitely. It does not take much to damage a car today with plastic bumper skins.
Take your foot off the accelerator and's stear slightly toward the direction of the skid. Do not apply the brakes.
