The distributor is off a tooth or two. You can pull the distributor out and turn the rotor a little and put it back in. Then re-time the engine.
Yes you can no problem.
Yes you sure can
To remove the distributor on your Chevy Celebrity 2.5L 4 cylinder engine: 1, Set the timing to the number one cylinder in the firing position. 2. Remove the distributor cap and put out of the way. If you take out any of the spark plug wires make note of where to put them back. 3. Loosen and remove the retainer clamp and its bolt. 4. Pull the distributor out of the block. To reinstall the distributor reverse the instructions. You will need to re-time the engine when you put the distributor back in.
Stick with the coil recommended by Mallory.
all you should have to do is take the distributor cap off, and there it is. answer take the distributor cap off, pull the old rotor off, put the new one on, put the cap back on.
startet has nothing to do with it, but just put the crank on TDC and line up the distributor to #1
Did you put power to the right terminals on the distributor? (one from battery, one from ignition) Did you run a ground strap to the engine? Good luck.
You must have been fooling with the distributor. You MUST have an engine scanner to set the timing on that engine. That will then put the cam and crank sensors back in correlation / Time with each other.
Yes, as long as it is a pre 87 350. In 87 Chevy changed the cylinder head configuration, and thus takes a different intake. The only isue here is the place you put the oil in. On early 283's, there was a hole in the front of the intake, to put a tube, to put opil in. There were no holes in the valve covers. Newer stuff, they eliminated that hole, and you put oil into the valve covers. Just make sure you have the proper set up. It does not matter where you put the oil, either spot, but, just so you can.
Purchase a repair manual at most parts stores, ( around $12 ) for detailed instructions on this and many other repairs.
