Generally not. Insurers take the position that mold grows over a period of time and is not the sudden and unexpected occurrence that insurance normally covers. Recent policies have express exclusions for mold coverage.

However, if mold is found in the course of repair of a covered loss (for example, a tree fell on a house and it had to be partially reconstructed), as likely as not the mold-damaged area would be repaired if it were part of the repairs necessitated by the covered loss.
