There are people who actually have a business that will shampoo your upholstery, and from what i understand it doesn't cost that much. they can also fix rips or tears in vinyl/leather seats. I would not use shampoo or body wash on car upholstery. usually they have detergents that would be very hard to get back out. Detergents in those products are the same thing that, in the case of shampoo, that makes the suds so many people prefer when they wash their hair. there are products that you can find at auto part stores that are specifically for stains and what not that are common.
