You should be able to do that with your remote. Just look for the `caption' or `c.c.` button and try using it again. You may have to push it several times to completely turn it off as it may cycle through the different types of captioning systems before reaching the `off' setting. If you don't see it on the front of the remote, you may have a remote with a second compartment and the keypad may flip or slide open to allow you access to the additional buttons.
look for a button on your magnavox tv remote that is labeled CC - on my remote it is part of the channel number buttons - not easy to see if you are not looking for it.
I've been all thru the digital menu for the tv and can't find any close caption controls. thank goodness i have the remote.
hope this helps.
If you have a cable box (eg Time Warner Cable), this info may help...
The CC is almost certainly being sent by the cable box rather than generated by the TV since you are using a component connection.
Without knowing the model number of your cable box I can't be certain, but for many Motorola boxes you need to do something like:
. With the cable box connected to the TV and both switched On...
. Switch OFF the cable box
. Immediately press the MENU button on the front of the cable box
. Use the cable remote or panel cursor keys to select the CC option and disable it
good luck!
I can't turn off the closed caption please help
how to get closed caption on dynex tv
Leave tv on, turn off pvr, press menu on remote and pvr will turn on with a menu screen showing (slight delay) on tv but the power on light will show red (off). Anyway, toggle to closed caption if not already on it and choose cc off. Press exit and then press power button on pvr on and your done.
Hit the menu button on your remote or on your television. Somewhere, you should see the closed caption option. If you cannot find it, go to the manufactures website and download instructions for your specific model television.
Go to menu and you should find a item for settings or starting up. It should be in one of those.
Vizio
You are confusing closed captions with subtitles.DVDs have subtitles, which are controlled (turned on or off, or changed to another language) by the DVD player.TV programs have closed captions, which are controlled by the TV.
"Open caption" means the caption is part of the movie frame and cannot be turned off as opposed to "Close caption" that is available on many DVDs.
You are able to turn on and off electricity.
See if your TV has a menu button. If it does, hit that, then go to screen options, or captioning options. You would probably use the channel up/down to navigate. you will eventually find the caption off/on/on when muted option. If there is no menu button, you may need to get another remote or a universal remote.
It turns off if its not closed. when you put it on your hair AND CLOSES IT...it turns on.
Put this as the caption: And to top it all off......
