map sensor is located on the upper intake on the passenger side near the back.
Check the sensors, mine did the same thing and it was the sensors
If the Chrysler Sebring won't start after going through a puddle, the problem is probably that the starter relay switch got wet. This is not a common thing but if the starter relay was bad to begin with, moisture will make the problem worse. The starter relay is located on the starter.
If you don't have fire at the plug, change the crank sensor first, then the coil.
Check and make sure all the plugs going to the ECU and PCM are plugged in.
Check the engine sensors. I changed all the engine sensors on my 1996 Dodge Ram Van and it vehicle only started when I changed the Flywhel sensor on the bellhousing and it was also the cheepest sensor to buy. My auto mechanic scanned the on board computer but this did not show up the problem sensor. he had a spate of Chrysler group vehicles in with this same problem and it turned out to be the Flywheel sensor and for some reason Chrysler do not put this sensor into the on board computer checking system and did not show a fault code on the OBD.
It is a non serviceable part of the distributor. The distributor will need replaced if the cam sensor has failed.
Because your starter is going bad. You will need a new starter soon!
start the car and let it idle while the car is running unplug the mass airflow sensor if the idle does not change then the sensor is probably bad if the idle does change or the engine dies out then it is working so leave it alone cause they arent cheap. A Chrysler Cirrus does not use a maf.
The engine on a 99 Chrysler Cirrus will turn but not start if it is not getting enough fuel or has no spark. Both issues can be diagnosed by taking the vehicle to a local mechanic.
reset the fuel pump impact breaker located in the trunk usually on the side it's a red button
Check the crank sensor. I had a 98 cirrus that wouldn't start and that was the problem
Idle speed on a 1998 Chrysler is computer controlled and is not adjustable. If idle speed is incorrect, you have a sensor, actuator, or mechanical failure. Places to start are, check for engine fault codes. Check for vacuum leaks.
if it is getting fuel and spark it could be the map sensor
Start it after filling the radiator.
Honestly about 150,000 miles. After that the transmission will start to stick. common problem.
try jumping the battery in the car or cleaning the cables
the starter has failed.
