Well, for the most part, nothing will happen to them, but that depends on where they are put and how you lose the weight....For instance I tattooed a big fella who ended up with a tummy stapling operations. After a few months [after the operation] he showed me the tattoo on his arm and it hadn't bothered it a bit.

However in the case of catastrophic weight loss, where weight is lost way too fast it could actually cause the skin to sag....But I wouldn't worry too much about that, unless you were cast away on a desert island with nothing but coconut juice, or ravaged by a catastrophic desease, your tattoo would probably be just fine.....Hope this helps....TatuBaron
