How do I get to the flywheel bolts on a 98 dodge dakota to remove a transmission
For what? Without knowing, I will give you the head bolt specs. First, always use new bolts. Begin in the middle. Then go to the ends. Never tighten two bolts on the same side in sequence.. First torque them to 22ftlbs, the go around and do them again give them 1/4 turn. 90 degrees. Then do that AGAIN, go around the sequence a third time and give them another 1/4 turn. Toyota provides no specifications for the final ftlbs of torque.
I would not recommend it. The bolts are stretched during the torque procedure.
i have a 87 dodge Dakota v-6 pick upat the bottom of the bell housing there are 2 bolts one on each side that hook to a bracket.that hooks to the moter.remove both bottom bolts, you will be able to move and bend the bracket on the starter side out of the way, also will be able to pull the sheet metal gauard from the lower half of the bell housing out.take the top and bottom bolts out of the starter you will need to twist and turn the starter to get it out.but its not all that bad.that is the way i did mine hope this was some help to you Dave

The head bolt torque for the Dodge 6 cylinder and V-8 engines is 50 ft. lbs. torque. If it is a diesel engine, the torque is 90.4 ft. lbs. Tighten the bolts by working from the center out, and alternating side to side. This prevents warping of the head.
65ft. LBS
13 FT. LBS or 17 N.m That is for the 42re transmission The 46RE is the same also. Good Luck.
155 ft. lbs. for the upper control arm-to-frame bolts.

In general starters do not have torque specifications. You will want to tighten the starter as tight as you can without breaking the starter bolts.
