How do you remove the drivers side headlight assembly?

That would depend upon your make and model. I know on my Nissan 240sx to actually disassemble the headlight itself, you have to remove the glue attaching the glass to the backing of the headlight. This is usually done by heating it up in some sort of oven. If your just looking to change a bulb, Google your make and model and you should find sufficient results.

How do you make headlight lenses clear again after yellowing from the sun?

The easiest way is to purchase a Headlight Lens Restoration Kit by 3M. They are available at AutoZone and 3mestore.com. (~$20) The Kit contains basically all the tools needed to restore the headlight lens and you use it with your household drill. The results you will get are amazing! The cheap way is to mix tooth paste with glass cleaner. You'll be surprise.

Why does your headlight not work on your L reg micra you have replaced the bulb but it still does not work there does not appear to be a fuse for the headlight?

The fuse for the headlights are situated right in front of the battery. Because of the location of this fuse box,it gets bombarded with the weather which results in the terminals corroding badly and falling apart. I suspect if you look at this you will find your problem. Hope this helps

Are there any lawsuits or recalls against manufacturers of yellowing headlight lenses?

Unfortunately not, but i know there are groups and lawyers attempting to make a case against them . Actually some states have even adopted a headlight output requirement where they measure the output of light emitting through your foggy headlights. If they don't passed you are required to get them fixed or even replace them and car manufactuers are making money off of this. My Toyota Tacoma headlights were in pretty bad shape and i was told that they would not pass the light output required here in my state so i began looking on the internet and found this great company called The Headlight Solution they offer kits that include everything you need to restore your headlights. I though i was going to be faced with a $300-$400 dent in my pocket for replacements, but i found this company ordered their Advanced Headlight Restoration Kit for like $26 and amazingly enough i have brand new headlights, great kit. great results. They say it isn't car manufactuers fault it is more of a cusumer issue because it is a part of maintenance......just like you maintain your vehicles paint job you must maintain the plastic lenses so they never get to that ugly cloudy look...........just people need to be informed about the maintenance required all it takes is to apply a polish designed for plastic every three to six months and they will never get the "headlight cancer" as some people call it. Good luck. Try out the company if your headlights are cloudy and you are looking for an answer at http://www.headlightsolution.net

Why would you keep blowing headlight fuses but dash lights still work?

I can't answer your question, but usually dashlights and taillights are on the same fuse [circuit], and NOT with the head lights. Answer 1 is correct as, normally, the headlights are on a "dedicated" circuit, with NO other lights or devices sharing. I suspect this is a designed in safety feature due to the potentially critical function of the headlights. Therefore, the fact that the "dash lights" continue to "work" is immaterial to the problem with the headlight. Now, to the more important OTHER part of your question. NOTE that ANY TIME you have a FUSE WHICH CONTINUALLY "BLOWS" upon replacement, INDICATES SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG !!! A fuse is SUPPOSED to blow out anytime there is an OVERLOAD or a SHORT within the circuit which it PROTECTS. See a related question and answer, "What are the origins of the fuse?" This related question and answer contains a comprehensive discussion of what your repeatedly blowing fuse means. The bottom line of your problem is that there is definitely something SERIOUSLY wrong with your headlight circuit, and if not properly analyzed and corrected, could resuslt in a serious nighttime accident, OR serious damage to your vehicle's wiring system, or worst case, a fire. Please read the referenced question and answer, and if you are not capable of finding and correcting the fault in the headlight wiring circuit, then get a PROFESSIONAL AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN to fix the problem before it results in serious consequences.

1998 Pontiac sunfire convertible and the passenger headlamp in hi beam and low beam comes on but not as bright as the drivers side bulbs have been replaced and swapped with the same results?

I'm not quite sure how the headlight sockets are grounded in our cars, but it kind of sounds like you may have a resistive connection on the passenger side. I think I'd try to find how that side is grounded, then clean up and tighten that connection. FriPilot
