Real jewelry from Walmart or any kind of chain department store is listed by its quality. If it is plated with gold instead of gold it will say so. The diamonds are real just not the same quality as high end boutiques. Still very nice. Some people that have Allergies to precious metals would not take well to this kind of jewelry.

the jewelry isn't fake, it is cheaper because they use 10k gold instead of 18k or 24k or even stainless steel. they also use lower quality/clarity diamonds, but they are genuine.

In my experience you can get fake gold at walmart stamped or sold as real. Gold doesn't have to be expensive everywhere, 10k means about 40% gold, 24k is 99.9% and isn't very common, 10k is sold at nicer stores the price is based on the store not the fact that it's actually better. Walmart cant stamp something that isn't the karat standard. I bought earrings marked as 10k from Walmart they tarnished in less than a week. it's against cpa policy to sell and their guarantee. gold jewelry will not , it won't stick to magnets and it should be easier to bend if it's real. 10k is actually more durable in terms of less bending. I can't say this is always the case but the Brilliance Fine Jewelry was the brand that personally tarnished. Other accounts I've read were fake gold chain that was stamped being fake and an engagement ring are easy Google finds. So yes, possibly some is legit, I haven't been able to get any.
