The serfs of subjected Messenia who worked the land and gave half their produce to Sparta. For that reason, when the Spartan army left on a military expedition, it took seven helots (serfs) for every Spartan hoplite (armoured warrior) not only to use as light infantry, but to prevent them rising in their absence when Sparta was left unprotected.

You must first start a Multiplayer Forge game, in other words, go to multiplayer then to Forge. This mode allows you to create your own Multiplayer maps. While in Forge, press "up" on the D-Pad. This will turn you into the Monitor to allow you to edit the map. You cannot attack however, and the only way to be the monitor is in the Forge. You can still be attacked as well unless you have the settings for the edit mode set to make you invisible when you are the monitor.
