MAGNETS ATTRACT IRON! The pin is made of an iron so it is able to attract to the magnet. The match on the other hand, is made of cardboard paper substance. Paper and cardboard both DO NOT contain iron. That is why magnets attract pins but not matches.

Matches are not made of a magnetic material, so the magnet will not attract it.

How does the weight of a bowling ball effect how many pins it knocks down?

Because a heavier ball has both more mass (weight) and inertia (resistance to being deflected), it's more likely to drive through the pins and cause them all to fall.As strange as it sounds, on a textbook strike, the bowling ball itself only touches four of the ten pins. But it imparts energy to those pins, causing them to ricochet in a predictable pattern that causes them to take out the other six pins. The heavier the ball is, the more energy it transfers to those four pins, and the more likely they are to carry out their job. Of course, this assumes the ball isn't too heavy for the bowler to throw; since Force = mass x acceleration, a lighter ball thrown harder can hit the pins with as much (if not more) power than a heavy ball thrown slowly.

When only bowling with four pins what is a perfect score for that game?

This would be a simple math problem. There are ten pins in a normal game and the perfect score is 300. If we were to use only 4 pins, that would mean that we are using only 40% of the original 10 pins. So if we are changing nothing else, the scoring system remains the same, and there are still 10 frames with 2 fill balls, then the perfect tenpin score for a game with only four pins would be 120. I simply took 40% of 300 (0.4 x 300 = 120).
