well..scientists think that the large hadron collider is capable of generating enough power to travel through time..id say that's pretty interesting and needs to be researched. if scientists didnt research things..we wouldn't progress.

The most basic? Let's take a shot on the dark, :) and say E=mc squared. Simply because this is how Hydrogen fused to create the first stars, which in turn gave rise to galaxies and formed the universe as we know it today. Secondly because of using Einstein's equation, scientist have been able to use the Tevetron particle accelarator at Fermilab and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Switzerland to trace back to the Big Bang and beyond. Which one? If you mean the one some people say might be caused by the Large Hadron Collider in CERN in Switzerland - No. I say no for several reasons, (1) Many scientists say that this mchine will not create a black hole, and (2) If one is created, we won't even know about it, we'll disappear so fast, and (3) What good would worrying do you?

How can a small particle say a neutrino travel ALMOST at the speed of light when it would take an infinite amount of energy to travel at the speed of light?
Firstly, it takes an infinite amount of energy to accelerate an object with 'mass' to the speed of light. A massless particle removes that energy problem. Secondly, approaching the speed of light is not actually much of an issue for even a particle with mass. The Large Hadron Collider accelerates particles to just 3m/s below the speed of light, 'almost the speed of light' by any definition. While it takes an immense amount of energy, it can still be done.
