∙ 10y agoThe plastic is made of a transparent polymer plastic such as polycarbonate. There is a thin, partially transparent film in the center made of plastic mixed with photosensitive chemicals such as tellurium suboxide (CD/DVD-RW). Finally there is a reflective layer that allows the laser in the drive to pass through and reflect back to the phototransistor.
