Dry scabs can crack, and if the scab is left on too long then it will induce scarring. Therefore, the quicker the scab falls off then the less scar you will have. Also, cells need moisture to rejuvenate. Bacteria can survive in moisture, so I would recommend neosporin (it also have vitamine e, which is a plus).
