I have drunk of cans of ensure dating back to 2006 and here I am, alive to tell the tale.
It tastes a bit...off. But since it's not really milk but corn syrup with sodium and calcium caseinates ....I expect it to taste just as off until that moment comes when the caseinates holding this 'milk' substance together will collapse and it will come out of solution and just...be nasty, however even then, I doubt it would go 'bad'. Just more unpleasant.
Otherwise, with the 2006-2008 ENSURE I have, I just shake them rather vigorously for about one minute. This makes it taste less bitter. Why? Let that be the next question then...
