A real LT-1 had a four bolt main block.
Absolutely. The ONLY parts that aren't interchangeable between a 2 bolt and 4 bolt block are the main bearing caps themselves. The crank, rods, pistons, camshaft, oil pump, etc, are ALL interchangeable. So yes, the pistons will work just fine.
Block, crank, pistons, and valves. Those are the main parts that cost the most to fix.
Remove the engine, place on an engine stand. Remove heads, oil pan, pistons, main caps and remove the crank.Remove the engine, place on an engine stand. Remove heads, oil pan, pistons, main caps and remove the crank.
1. Pistons 2.Cam shaft 3. Crank shaft 4. Engine walls
Engine housing- it is made of three main areas , the sump, the head and the main one, the block which houses the pistons, con rods and the crank shaft
You have to start out with a 350 Chevy engine for bolt main ,boarded over 30 change the crank case Pistons and rods if done correctly you should have 600 hp not 420
The crankshaft is an internal component of the engine that converts an up and down movement of the pistons to a rotational movement of the the crankshaft. This is provided to the powertrain for movement. The bottom of the pistons are attached to the crankshaft with main bearings.
"small block" typically distinguishes between a 2 bolt and 4 bolt main. (Small block= 2 bolt main. Big/large block=4 bolt main) "long block" typically distinguishes between a rebuilt engine that has heads, rockers, rocker covers, oil pump, pan... in other words, complete, versus just block, crank, cam and pistons (short block).
1967, 2 bolt main bearing, small crank wrong way
The arrows point to the front of the engine.
Lack of oil is the main thing that damages pistons.
i have a engine with this # and its a 2 bolt main
