TJ is known to have sticky fingers and a tendency to steal, so it is plausible that he was searching for valuables. Additionally, TJ may have been seeking information or evidence to use against the Logan family.

In ROTHMC the author never explains what TJ stands for, but does reveal his last name, which is Avery. ROT's part of a series of books so his real name might be said in 1 of the other books.
