There are numerous poisonous native frogs in Australia, but not enough is known about their poison to determine the extent of what would happen, should someone ingest the poison. For many of these frogs, it is stated that, "On current evidence, it appears unlikely that this species would cause significant adverse effects in humans. However, it cannot presently be stated with certainty that this species will be harmless." The following frogs are included in this category:

  • Red-crowned Toadlet
  • Brown Toadlet
  • Red-backed Toadlet
  • Corroboree frog, including Corroboree Toadlet, Southern Corroboree frog and Northern Corroboree frog
  • Southern Toadlet, or Dendy's Toadlet
  • Douglas's Toadlet
  • Gunther's Toadlet
  • Large Toadlet or Marbled Toadlet
  • Orange-Crowned Toadlet
  • Southern Toadlet
  • Copper-Backed Broodfrog

The Cane Toad is not native to Australia, so has not been included in this list.
