Below is a list of both the sovereign states (independent countries) and the dependent territories within the divisions of Europe. Europe ends at the Ural Mountains and River, the Caspian Sea in the east, Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea to the west and Bosporus and Dardanelles in the south. This division causes somewhat of a problem when it comes to categorizing countries into continents as the divisions have caused the following countries to have both land of Europe and in Asia: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey. Also, Armenia and Cyprus are entirely in Asia, but are socially considered as part of Europe. The list is below.
