The Greek city-states become different because they are all absolutely independent and self-sufficient as a community. The concept of the polis was based on three basic and closely related ideas: the geographical territory of the city-state, the community that it represented, and the political and economic independence that it produced. This means, not every city-state is alike. Some city-states can be alike, but it's really rare. The geography in Greece is a great influencer with the way the early Greeks lived. They are alike by the way they are classified.. I mean the concept of the polis.
