I don't believe they were necessarily punished. The bombings that ended the war for Japan was pretty much it. Then the United States proceeded to reconstruct, a common thing for the victors to do after a war.
Japan was punished for their role in World War II by paying million dollars to the Allies (British Empire, France, Netherlands, United States, China, and Soviet Union.) Also, the Allies had to prosecute the Japanese government and military leaders for war crimes like sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and illegal torture and mistreatment of Allied P.O.W.
Russian ocupation in Hungary and Romania, American occupation in Japan in Germany, terror, huge payments, etc. Bulgaria was not seriously punished.
Romania was severely punished behind WW2.
Japan was defeated in World War II.
Hideki Tojo was the leader of japan in world war 2.
Germany and Japan were allies during World War 2. They were not at war with each other.
Japan
Japan's World War II was during 1912 - 1945.
Japan attacked Manchuria, this causing the second world war.
When World War II began, Japan sided with Germany and Italy.
Japan invaded Manchuria in 1931 - before the start of World War 2.
japan
Probably not too differently. Germany after all was heavily punished after both World Wars, and yet it remains one of the - if not the - strongest country in Europe.
