This Mancala game has a computer player that is easily mastered when you make the first correct moves. Consider the cups numbered from 6 to 1, with 6 at the left end and 1 at the right closest to your goal. There are 4 gems in each bowl.
To thrash the computer:
Turn 1 - 1
Turn 2 - 4 /1 / 2 (you get to play again twice)
Turn 3 - 1 / 3
Turn 4 - 1 / 2
Turn 5 - 1 / 5
Turn 6 - 2 / 1 / 3
Turn 7 - 2 / 6 / 4 / 3 / 5 (computer has to dump to your side)
Turn 8 - 6
Turn 9 - 6 (computer may play a move that forces a different move)
Turn 10 - 5
In the context of math Mancala is mostly a counting a game. It's often called a "count and capture" game and more often than not considered a strategy game.
