That was Maria Pepe who had joined a team in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1972 and then was dismissed by the coach after parents complained. Little League then threatened to revoke the charter of the league if they continued to allow her to play. The National Organization for Women filed a civil rights complaint in New Jersey, claiming sexual discrimination. Judging from the name "Stacie" she is a girl. Girls have never and will never play in Major League Baseball. They did have a girls baseball league during WWI. But that's not considered major league.
