An independent tract of farmland in which there was a city and water supply.
Forests help maintain water supply by absorbing rainfall and reducing runoff, thus recharging groundwater. Farmlands can decrease usable water supply by increasing water consumption, polluting water sources with chemicals and fertilizers, and degrading soil health, leading to decreased water retention capacity. Sustainably managing both forest and farmland can help maintain usable water supply.
You use a Hoe on a dirt block to turn it into farmland. The farmland needs to be near a water source, it will turn darker to show the supply is adequate. Then you can plant seeds on it, as well as carrots, etc.

If they flood they could damage the crops because farmers their plant crops close to the rivers so they get the water
Perennial canals have water flowing in them round the year. but Non perennial canal are fed only in particular seasons especially during monsoon.
Irrigation water has dissolved salts and minerals. Those salts and minerals are left behind as the water evaporates. Soil that is high in salt is not favorable for growing most crops.

Salt water is bad for farmland because it contains high concentrations of salt, which can damage the soil structure, inhibit plant growth, and reduce crop yields. Additionally, salt water can dehydrate plants by drawing water out of their roots, leading to water stress and ultimately plant death.
