There is some modern debate about Ford. He is associated with the American Nazi movement and was a anti Semitic. From various sources it seems he was very prejudice towards many groups of people and was very public about his feelings. In 1977 Congress did an investigation of the dealings of Ford and GM with Hitler's Germany. Hitler had a picture of Ford on his wall and gave him Germany's highest medal in July 1938. In April of 1939 the German Ford division gave Hitler a present of 35,000 marks for his 50th birthday. He also published several books that attacked and demonized Jews and bought a newspaper the Dearborn Independent to express his views on life and work. At work he was a strict authoritarian manager and wanted his workers to live as he thought they should live. He fought the unions and used whatever force he could to stop them including using a private police force. Ford's book The International Jew was translated into German and was used by the German Nazi movement. He actively sought an outlet for his views and used this power/money to give voice to his antisemitic ideas. These were hate filled remarks that vilified and demonized a specific group of people as alien, murderous, and sub human. The seeds were sown that can still be felt today. So, was he a good person? In my opinion, no. I do not make a hero out of person who has repulsive personal beliefs and expresses them as Ford did.
Alright, buckle up buttercup. A hook about Henry Ford could be something like "Forget the Kardashians, let's talk about a real game-changer: Henry Ford." As for a thesis statement, you could go with "Henry Ford revolutionized the automotive industry with his innovative assembly line techniques, forever changing the way cars were manufactured and paving the way for modern transportation as we know it today." So there you have it, the tea on Henry Ford served hot and fresh.
Henry Ford did not say this quote. This is actually a quote by Edward Everett Hale.
