She thought he was her father. Her father promised her that when he died he would send the Angel of Music from heaven to her to watch over her and guide her.
She didnt think it was her father, but she did think it was the Angel of Music, and she believed that because she wanted to hold on to a piece of her father even if she knew it was fake.
They met two different ways. Christine's father told her when he was in heaven, he'd send her an angel of music. When she went to the chapel in the Opera House and she was alone, Erik would speak to her. This is where they met. At the main time part of the story, they met in Christine's dressing room, where they first met face-to-mask.
Love Never Dies by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber in 2010. Christine's son is Gustave, she believes he is the son is Raoul but he is the Phantom's son. Gustave has the musical talent of his father. The Phantom makes Christine promise to never tell Gustave that Raoul is not his real father. Christine reveals to Gustave that the Phantom is his father and Gustave runs off. She tells the Phantom that her love for him will never die. They have one final kiss and she dies in his arms. Gustave goes and joins his real father, The Phantom. Gustave takes the Phantom's mask off but does not react as he did before. Gustave and the Phantom look at each other as the curtain falls.
