Well, Benedict Arnold was a general in the time of the American Revolutionary war. Most famous for obtaining command of the fort at West Point as an American fighter and plotted unsuccessfully to surrender it to British forces. After the plot was exposed in September 1780, he entered the British Army as a brigadier general. That is most likely the source of the (Play on words) "Eggs Benedict Arnold"
