Go through the dance again and again so it is perfect, using a video camera to look back on and improve any areas of weakness is a good idea also. A good warm up is the best idea before any type of rehearsal.
Paper and pen notes (or in some cases, laptop notes) can really focus what you want to work on in a rehearsal. Jot down some notes on areas in the dance you think would cause your dancers trouble, places in the piece you want to emphasize or highlight, and also think about your individual dancers' styles, and how best to use them in your work. Mental preparation beforehand really makes that rehearsal move. I am thinking of all the notes Merce Cunningham used to take while choreographing.
In my experience, the very BEST thing you can do is make sure you have called all your dancers ahead of time before the first rehearsal, to be sure they remember to come! Unless you are an NYCB or MTV choreographer (sometimes even then!), you will usually have the late or forgetful dancer or two in your group. This can really hinder your rehearsal, so call and be a bit of a pain to make sure they come.
Stretch of course
a choreographer creates dances and teaches them to the dancers. it is his or her job to make sure that the moves work with the music and look good on the dancers who must do them, and in the case of a story ballet or any dance that tells a story, the choreographer must also make sure that the dancing is relevant to the story. He or she may change his/her mind many, many times before finalizing the dance.

A Deputy Stage Manager (DSM) is in control of the book. In rehearsals they must write down all the blocking for each scene as they are blocked and make changes as appropriate. They must also take rehearsal notes and at the end of the day send them out to each department so anything that needs attention can be sorted.

Blind Faith only recorded one album before splitting. The name of the album is the same as the group, Blind Faith. Although when it was remastered in 2000, as a Cd, they added a lot of outtakes, demos and rehearsals to make it into a double album.
