Some rules that are valuable in my theatre:
for actors-
dont talk backstage or on the wings
dont clap from backstage or the wings
stay out of the audience
never miss a cue
no eating in costume
check your props
dont ad lib
be on time
dont look at the audience
dont touch any prop that isnt yours
dont break character
dont turn your back to the audience
no pda
dont gossip
never give notes unless someone asks
for audience members:
dont talk
no phones
dont try to distract actors
no pda
dont yell out things or laugh obnoxiously loud
be on time
only leave or enter during intermission or curtain
at an improv or interactive event, dont heckle
no flash Photography
no food or drink
dont clap until lights go down, curtains close, or the act, song, or scene is 100% over
