in West Side Story maria and tony are together. in the outsiders nobody is together. in the outsiders johnny and dally die and in wws three people die. in the outsider ponyboy and friends are not a gang they are like brothers and they have no leaderand but in wws they are a gang with a leader

Well, there really aren't a lot as far as differences go, but you could start with the fact that in West Side Story, if you still considered them teenagers, they weren't being forcefully backed up by adults. In Romeo & Juliet the parents are obviously dead set against each other, although this is the same in both tales, West Side Story doesn't so much tell the feud between the adults, but instead between the teen aged generation per se.

Also, In Romeo and Juliet, they are at a disagreement for completely different reasons - WSS sees them arguing because of 'turf', and where they are from.

There's a much more violent take in WSS as well, depending on whether you're considering the movie version or the broadway.

Well I hears a couple of answers saying that one difference would be that Johnny And Dally died and in The Outsiders and in West Side Story, three people died. But Actually, you guys are forgeting Bob who died because Johnny had stabbed him with the switchblade.
