Absolutely not. 8th grade is a year full of stereotypes and pre-teen drama; which is usually why kids feel nervous about getting a so called date for the 8th grade dance. For my dance, it was mostly about having fun with your friends and celebrating the end of the year together. Just dont worry about crap like that and have fun. You'll most likely remember the memories you have with your friends then being pestered by your "date."

I think it is grade 4 on International Dance Teacher's Association. But i am not positive. on Royal Academy of Dance it's recommended grade 6 but it depends on the dancer a lot of the time

Well, theres two things. If your going to a formal all school dance; wear a regular shirt and jeans (or shorts depending on the weather) As for something like an 8th grade graduation dance; DONT DONT wear a tux, all those guys who do just look really awkward when they do! Well, depending on where you live and what kind of dance this is, a good place to start would be department stores - JCPenney, Younkers, Macy's usually have nice formal dresses. Another option that would be a little cheaper would be a Deb Store.
