Alzenau Germany was captured by my unit in March 1945. I was a member of A Troop, 121st Squadron of the 106th Mechanized Cavalry Recon Group. Four members of A Troop were killed in that action: Pfc Norman James Beatie Pfc Leland Mitchell Pfc John Van Doomr Cpl Fred Wright I have no recollection of that specific action but can refer you yo the excellent Website describing the history of the 106th(in continuous action from Normandy to the end of the war in Saltzburg Austria), prepared by my son Dr Don Williams upon request.
