In west side story who is Consuelo?

Consuelo is the blonde friend of Maria. (Have you met my good friend, Maria? The craziest girl on the block. You'll know her the minute you see her...)

In early versions of the stage play, it is she who sings Somewhere during the Ballet. This was changed in the film -- Maria and Tony sing Somewhere in the film. In the current Broadway revival (2009) Somewhere is sung by a child named Kiddo.
