Not a character in the play, but a topic of discussion. Historically, Julius Caesar defeated his rival Pompey and his sons in a series of civil wars before becoming sole dictator of Rome. The play starts just after the last of these battles. The common people are celebrating the victory, but the tribunes remind them that this was a defeat of Romans and great Romans at that. "Knew you not Pompey?" reminds them of that fact.
It depends on the play. Each one has a different central idea. But in general, by reading Shakespeare plays you can gain an insight into the Elizabethan period. What was important to them, how they spoke, what they valued, what were the intrigues and wars, etc...
No, alas. Although his plays have fairies, witches and ghosts, zombies do not make an appearance. It would have been awesome, however; if Star Wars can be rewritten in Shakespeare's style, maybe you can do the same for Night of the Living Dead?
The entire series of "Heroes of Might and Magic" is intended to be played on the DOS and Windows platforms. However, there has also been some limited support for Mac and Linux operating systems.
