Most child beauty pageants are scored as following:

Facial Beauty (1-10)

Poise and Presence (1-10)

Attire or Overall Appeal (1-10)

Facial Beauty is an opinion score, often based on eye contact and personal preference of beauty.

Poise and Presence is a modeling score, often based on walking to seperate locations on a stage (ie. T-Formation)

Attire/Overall Appeal is the clothing score, often based on fit, color, style, age of outfit

How do you give points in beauty pageants?

If you are asking about the term "Points" in the pageant community. Adding "Points" as defined in circuit beauty pageant systems, are based upon a contestant doing something outside of a stage event to improve their score. A director adds "points" in a beauty pageant to those who enter all events. In this case, a contestant would get one point added to their final score for being entered in all events, giving those who entered the all events in the pageant an advantage. Now if you are asking how pageants are scored. Most pageants are scored with a baseline score and Points up or down are added into each category, with deductions for certain conditions and additions for others.

How do judges chose you as beauty pageant winner?

They don't choose you. Numbers do. Let's say, in the confidence division, Rachel is given a 3 by one judge, a 5 by another and a 7 by the 3rd judge. Lisa is given a 5, 2, and 8. This is the way each division in a pageant is judged. When the pageant is over, all scores for each division are summed up and combined and the contestant with the highest score is the winner. Actual beauty has nothing to do with it.

Is Nationals Miss Teen South Jersey Pageant a scam?

I actually recently judged one of Nationals Miss Teen Pageants, and I can assure you it's a real pageant. All pageants do have entry fees, but that's not unusual. Also, this is not a beauty pageant; it's a self development pageant that focuses on personal growth instead of physical beauty. That said, the pageant was a cattle call that cumulated in a 4 hour production with no intermission. The staff was very small and they travel to do this pageant each weekend in a different city. It's a boxed pageant - meaning the same thing over and over again and they don't get to know or prepare their girls for the next level. All pageants are businesses, but this one is just all about the money. The judges were told exactly how to score. As a judge, I think there is a lot of room for improvement. I would spend your money on a teen pageant that gives you a recognizable title, and a director who can work with you to book appearances and prepare you for the next level of competition. Yes, it's a real pageant. But I'd still stay away.

What statistic is produced when the difference between a score and the mean is divided by the standard deviation?

a "T" or a "Z" score. A "T" Score if comparing a sample. A "Z" Score when comparing a population. Remember, a population includes all observation, and a sample includes only a random selection of the population.
