AT&T has a great no-commitment plan. The phones are a little more expensive, but you won't be stuck in a contract. You could also go buy a Go Phone from AT&T or Verizon which is a cell phone that you pay by the minute. You can buy minute cards which puts minutes on your phone, otherwise, you won't be able to use it.
Cell phone users who do not want to sign a contract with a wireless provider can select a pay as you go plan. Under this option, you buy a certain amount of talk time and can refill the minutes as often as you like. The only downside to a pay as you go cell phone is that not all devices can be used for such a service.
For example, advanced smart phones may not be compatible with pay as you go plans under some wireless providers.
