It may be an evaporation line. Read the directions of the test. You should not believe results after a certain amount of time. If in doubt, take the test a week later.

A pregnancy test must be read in the time specified in the instructions in order to get an accurate result. That time is never eight hours.

Had your period two days and at first pregnancy test was negative then ten hours later positive could you be pregnant?

yes you could be pregnant,.. use another test after a few days, or seek a blood test from a doctor

Used a preg test.instructions say that a positive result last up to 48 hours and a negative should not be read 10 minutes later. mine was negative but the line is still there 3 days later is it normal?

If a pregnancy test read after 3 minutes is negative, and 3 days later a line appears, the test is still negative. Pregnancy tests should be disregarded after 10 minutes because environmental factors can cause a line to appear.

What does it mean if the pregnancy test result is positive but after a couple of hours it's negative?

if it first appears as a definite positive, you are probably pregnant. This can happen after the test sits for awhile. you may want to check the expiration date!Answeryou may be pregnant but read the directions that they come with casue sometimes it says a positive should never change

You took a home pregnancy test it came out negative however the negative line is still there and you took it 2 hours ago The directions said that If negative it shouldnt be able to be read after 10 mi?

On a test, there are usually two lines. The one line is what you call the negative line and shows up if you have a negative or a positive result. A test is positive only if two lines show up. The negative line usually stays. The ten minute reference means that the test results after ten minutes will not be reliable. If the result is negative in the first minutes, then that is your proper result.

I was due for a Depo-Provera two days ago and i spoted for only 2 hours can i be pregnant?

Bleeding is not a sign of pregnancy. An absent period and positive pregnancy tests are signs of pregnancy. If you think you might be pregnant, take a pregnancy test.

Can it take hours for a pregnancy test to come up positive?

Yes. The hormone levels have to go up for the test and if they aren't there it will be negative. Sometimes you are pregnant, but there is a problem and a natural abortion is taking place so the test shows negative.

Why is it that my urine test is coming back positive and negative for pregnancy?

The hCG level is going to be highest first thing in the morning due to urine being more concentrated after not drinking or voiding (peeing) for several hours over night.Throughout the day, depending on how much liquid you consume, urine becomes too diluted (early in pregnancy) to show positive. There is no need to keep repeating urine tests for pregnancy - it is looking for one hormone - hCG - this is only found to be elevated during pregnancy (or with a very rare type of cancer).Once you get a positive test (about 1 week after missing a period) you can rest assured that you are pregnant - repeated tests will not change this, no matter if the tests are positive or not.
