Unfortunately, yes. As your parents they are allowed to take such measures. There should be possibilities though where you can still meet him without them knowing.
On the other hand there has to be some reason why they don't want to see you with him. Think about whether he's the guy you want to spend your life with. If he is, you have to get your parents to accept him or they'll always be a bad factor in your relationship (most of all though you have to make sure he also wants to spend his life with you and is willing to work for your parents' acceptance).
If he isn't... think about whether a fun ride with him is worth the trouble.
