Worthwhile as to having a refinished and reworked pistol that you can shoot, or worthwhile as to trying to convince someone that it's now grandpa's old pistol, found in the attic, and you'll let him have it for $5,000. without specifics to this firearm. i would let Doug improve any firearm I own. He has done work for me in the past and it was outstanding. Added: You have to balance the Value now vs the value after restoration less the cost of restoration . Also , how bad a shape is it ? If its not a considerably RARE or VALUABLE firearm and its in very poor astetic condition then I might have it restored . Its all about your personal preferance but remember , once restored , no 'Pure' collector will touch it with a 10 ft pole and you can't "Un-Restor" it . One good example would be this : I have a M1911A1 with rebuild stamps and 95% arsenal refinish or a 1918 Artillery Luger with 50% original finish ....In both cases I would NOT restore it .
