Need a detailed description of ALL markings. Sounds like a store brand.
Check with Savage Arms (They bought Stevens in 1920) You can also check gunpartscorp website.

your shotgun was made in1952 It is one the greatest bolt action shotguns ever made .Sears owned High Standard Manufacturing back then. Sears bought the company to make this and several other fire arms exclusively for them . Sears owned the pattens .In the case of your gun It is based on an H&R patten bought by Sears .Your shotgun in depending on condition is worth between 100 and 200 bucks depending on who whats it.
just bought a really nice one for $75
Yes, "bought" is a past tense action verb. It denotes the action of purchasing or acquiring something by paying for it.
I bought one when I was in High School in 1947 or 1948
What jurisdiction?
It all depends what model you have. For instance I have a M550AD it is worth about $600. Age also afeects the value. Your best bet is to take it to a gun shop. Mark The Wards Western Field .410 bolt action shotgun's model # is: 15a. It was bought by my Dad in about 1935-1936. Bought is a verb. An adjective describes something. A verb is an action, or what you are doing. For example "I bought a new computer." The action is you buying the computer(bought). And the adjective would be "new" because it describes the computer.
The latest year for the Savage model 18 12 ga. bolt action shotgun is 1951. these were sold by SEARS, MONTGOMERY WARD, WESTERN AUTO, and other Department Stores. They were made by Savage under the Individual store's coinciding brand name. I just bought one on Auction Arms and I had to dig up the year in order to buy it under my CURIOS & RELICS F.F.L.
I just bought a nice specimen for $100.00. Don't know age ...YET
